Daily Harvest
What arrives
A dry-ice frozen box of pre-portioned plant-based cups/pouches: classic and protein smoothies, protein oat bowls, Harvest Bowls, plus related items (site also markets elixirs). Smoothies: add liquid and blend. Bowls: heat in minutes. Transfer to the freezer on arrival. Frozen-item checkout commonly requires a 6-item minimum. Chobani acquired Daily Harvest (May 2025); January 2026 DTC relaunch ended subscription-only — one-time and recurring boxes both exist. Grocery retail (Kroger, Target, Wegmans, Costco cited) is a separate channel.
Who it’s for
Who should skip
Someone with freezer space and a blender who wants organic plant cups, not a weekly cook-from-kit.
No freezer. No blender if smoothies are the plan. Anyone who needed meat trays (Factor) or chef-hub dinners (CookUnity). Anyone who only remembers the 2022 crumbles recall and does not want the brand. June 2022 voluntary recall of French Lentil + Leek Crumbles after GI illness and liver issues (company ~470 reports; FDA later 393 illnesses / 133 hospitalizations / 0 deaths). FDA finished-product tests were negative for Listeria spp.; discussion pointed to tara flour (later not GRAS). Public settlements in *Peni v. Daily Harvest* totaling more than $30 million. Do not treat this as a confirmed Listeria outbreak. Portions/protein can be light without add-ins.
Start if frozen smoothie/bowl cups are the job and you will move the dry-ice box to the freezer the day it lands. One-time boxes exist after the 2026 relaunch — you do not have to subscribe to try. Skip if grocery pints already cover it, or if the recall history is disqualifying for this household.

| Caveats | Official: modify items, delivery schedule, and plan; skip/pause/cancel. Third-party 2025–2026 writeups: weekly or monthly. Top10 (2025-06-16): about 95% of the continental U.S.; dry ice keeps items frozen 1–2 days at the door. No HI/AK in standard DTC writeups. Frozen-item minimums and shipping fees apply on smaller boxes. Some metros historically had DoorDash on-demand — do not treat as national. |
