What arrives
Fresh (not frozen) chef meals in heatable trays inside a cold-packed, recyclable/compostable box. Regional chefs cook small-batch dishes in commissary hubs — not one national factory kitchen. Weekly plans of 4 / 6 / 8 / 12 / 16 meals; 300–400+ rotating dishes depending on hub. Heat ~2–3 minutes microwave or ~5–15 minutes oven/stovetop per chef card. Official: refrigerated shelf life about 3–7 days with a use-by date; chefs advise against freezing; trays are not freeze-rated. One meal is generally one serving.

Who should skip
Someone in a served zip who wants restaurant-style heat-and-eat with chef names on the tray, and will eat the box inside the use-by window.
Unserved zips (not 50-state). WIRED (2026-08-17): eight hubs — Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Toronto — leaving out most of West Virginia and a swath of the Plains. Anyone who needed a 7-day never-frozen Factor tray, or a cook-from-kit. Anyone who will freeze the leftovers anyway. Anyone who will miss cutoff and accept auto-select.
Start if your zip’s hub menu is the job and you will finish trays in 3–7 days. WIRED 2026: commonly $12 to $13 a meal on the most common plans (enrichment also notes ~$12–$16 plus variable shipping, often cited around $9.99–$11.99; UnityPass may waive fees). Menu and chefs differ by hub. Skip if Factor’s longer fridge window is why you would subscribe, or if you are outside the map.
