Bean Box

What arrives

One or two freshly roasted bags from independent U.S. roasters (site: 600+ coffees, 64 roasters), with roast-date labeling. Site claims bags are about 10% larger than typical 10.9-oz competitors. Profiles: Curator’s Choice, Single Origin, Light & Bright, Medium & Cozy, Dark & Toasty, Espresso, Decaf, Cold Brew; 12-oz / 2-lb / 5-lb; whole bean or ground. Members can rate coffees, swap toward favorites, and use the app. Not a country-of-the-month postcard club. Not frozen pucks.

Who it’s for

Who should skip

A home brewer who wants U.S. specialty variety with a roast date on the bag, and will swap when a profile misses.

Already buying a known roaster brand-direct. Anyone who wanted Atlas’s forced country rotation. Anyone who wanted Cometeer’s freezer extract. Anyone who will only run pay-as-you-go and then be surprised by per-delivery shipping.

Start if multi-roaster bags with roast dates are the job. Most 12-oz plans $19.50–$21.50, two-bag $36–$40 (site, in enrichment). WIRED Aug 2026: about $6 shipping per pay-as-you-go delivery unless you take an annual plan — that fee can erase the per-bag value. Member flat-rate shipping on plan deliveries; free a-la-carte shipping $45+ from a given roaster. Homepage review counts are first-party (some reviewers receive a small credit). Skip if Trade already matches you, or if one roaster already ships on your cadence.
